Quadrina Taps And Probe Insertion
We cover various types of under pressure tappings
Quadrina tappings are commonly used to establish a connection to an existing pipeline whilst it remains in service. At PLS (UK), our quadrina drilling and tappings can be done without interruption to product flow or disruption to service. We faciliatate for all sizes of under-pressure tappings including sample point drillings, probe insertions and quadrina tappings.
Following a similar process to our hot-tapping/UPT service, quadrina tappings provide a temporary or permanent solution for new connections of an existing main without having to leave a sacrificial valve in place. Pipeline Services (UK) provide a wide range of nipples, plugs and ferrules from 3/4″ (19mm) up to 2″ (50mm) diameter to suit all pipe materials and sizes.
We operate on all pipe materials and diameters
As a company we pride ourselves on being able to offer a wide range of services that cater for all sectors and works across the industry. Using our hot-tapping or quadrina tapping equipment, we can perform safe and efficient under pressure drillings to allow for probe insertion or sample points for a wide range of pipe materials and diameters.
Our range of sample tappings from 1/2″ (12.5mm) up to 4″ (100mm) and bigger upon application allows us to cater to works specifically. Probe insertions commonly range from 1/2″ (12.5mm) to 4″ (100mm) but at PLS (UK) we cater for any size of probe, pipe material and diameter.
- Quadrina taps can be done on pipelines of up to 48″ (1200mm) diameter and pressures of up to 10 bar (145 psi)
- Sample taps can be used for temporary or permament connections
- We supply both fittings and sacrificial valves for probe insertion or sample points taps
- Our sample taps can be done on most pipe materials including ductile iron, cast iron and carbon and stainless steel
